Anger in Islam

Anger is a weapon of man towards destruction and diminishing noble qualities. This is a condition that weakens them Iman of the believers, and is the root of all evils.

When a person is angry mad, and reaches a state of having wrath against any person, he should make a special Du'a. In doing so he will cool down.

Two men were fighting and blaming each other during the time of the Prophet Muhammed (S.A.W), one of them was so angry that his face turned red and his jugular veins was popping out.
the Prophet (S.A.W) said. I know a statement if he or she say's it then the person with anger will cool down.
The person with anger  should say :
A'ouzo billahi min-aash-shaitan-ir-rajeem.
Which Means  "I seek refuge with Allah from Satan, the accursed." So next time your angry, Recite this and cool down.

What does Allah (S.W.T) Say in the Quran about controlling one's anger ?

For this we refer to As-Shura Verse Number verse's 36-41

036# Whatever ye are given (here) is (but) a convenience of this life: but that which is with Allah is better and more lasting: (it is) for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord:

037# Those who avoid the greater crimes and shameful deeds, and, when they are angry even then forgive;

038# Those who hearken to their Lord, and establish regular Prayer; who (conduct) their affairs by mutual Consultation; who spend out of what We bestow on them for Sustenance;

039# And those who, when an oppressive wrong is inflicted on them, (are not cowed but) help and defend themselves.

040# The recompense for an injury is an injury equal thereto (in degree): but if a person forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allah: for (Allah) loveth not those who do wrong.

041# But indeed if any do help and defend themselves after a wrong (done) to them, against such there is no cause of blame.

In the 36th Ayath he says whatever u have been given in this world is is worldy life and insignificant, comparing to what is coming in the next life. He says whatever you have been given in this life  is "Mathaa-ah".

Mathaa'ah is something which you use but not necessarily enjoy using it, for eg. the arabs used to call a brush that they used to clean pots "mathaa'ah" it is necessary but you dont enjoy using it, you wont be like "WOW what a nice brush", A broom , a shovel , a fork, these are the things arabs used to call "Mathaa'ah" these are the things we use but not necessarily enjoy using them.

Allah says everything in this world, whatever u have been given is mathaa'ah. These are the things given for you to use, but to use them for a higher purpose which is worship Allah (S.W.T). So remember whatever you have in this life Allah has better in the next one and it is LONGER lasting!!!

In the next ayath he says (comparing to the above verse) this for the people who really believe. That is the people who keep away from MAJOR sins and ALL forms of shamelessness and Vulgarity and then as a third point he brings up Anger, He says when ever a person (person in the sense the person who KNOWS that this world life is a "Mathaa'ah") gets angry he FORGIVES. He says FORGIVES not calming down, anyone can calm down but it takes it to a whole new level when you have to forgive the person making you angry. So when something goes wrong in this world its easy for this person to calm down and say "Innah-Lillahi-Wa-Innah-Ilayhi-Raji'oon" WHich means to Allah we belong and to him is our return.

BUT, this is not MANDATORY, this is for people in the highest calibre, Inshallah we should be among them, Because in the next Ayath he says you can get angry, you can even take revenge like for eg. if someone slaps u, u can slap em ryt back. This is ALLOWED in islam. But Allah says if u can still take it and forgive and reconcile, The reward is so big you cant even describe it, the only thing that can be said about it is that it is ON ALLAH! in otherwords Allah will take care of you.

SO inshallah may Allah make us one of the people of the Highest calibre, and give us the ability to stay calm and the ability to forgive when we are angry! specially when it comes to people in the family.

What is the meaning of “THAQWA” ?

By definition it means the “Veil between good and evil” more like a veil to protect us from the punishment of Allah. The basic requirement for Thaqwa is Imaan, when a person has true Thaqwa, he or she will not go astray from the true path i.e. for eg. We commit a sin, we know we did it and are fully conscious of it, a person with thaqwa on the other hand will hesitate to commit the sin in the first place.

Umar ibn Khaththab(may Allah be pleased with him) asked Ubbay ibn Ka’ab (may Allah be pleased with him), “What is the meaning of Taqwa?” Ubbay ibn Ka’ab said, “O Amir ul Mu’minin, have you walked on a field that had a lot of thorny plants?” Umar said, “Yes” Ubbay ibn Ka’ab said, “So what did you do?” Umar replied, “I lifted up my clothes and I was very careful,” Ubbay ibn Ka’ab said, “That is Taqwa.”
We are walking in a field that is full of thorny plants, shaythaan and his followers will try to seduce you and invite you to evil, having THAQWA in Duniya is lifting your clothes up and being careful, so you wont touch this evil.
May Allah protect us all
